This week, Pastor Will preaches Part III of The Work of the Flesh v. The Fruit of the Spirit. As believers, we are challenged to rise above emotional and mental distractions that can dull spiritual sensitivity; to keep doing spiritual things regardless of the conditions around us and whether we feel close to God. Drawing from Matthew 14:22–27, we are reminded of the importance of staying spiritually awake and obedient, even when God feels distant or circumstances are stormy. The flesh may resist, but the Spirit calls us to act in faith, not feelings.
Victory in spiritual battles comes through steady obedience and a mind continually renewed by the Word of God.
